Evelyn, I enjoy your approachable writing style (and your recommendations). Thank you! Italian Vermentino is a favourite, particularly one from San Gimignano. "The light went on" with your flag that there are 2 styles: I had tasted the difference but had not understood what was going on. I will now look for French Vermentino (or Rolle) here in Ontario.

Shari! Thanks so much for your continued interest and support! Vermentino certainly is a grape that can produce wonderful wines. I will look for some from San Gimignano! We have wines from the Vernaccia grape from San Gimignano in Alberta, not sure about Vermentino. I will do some research!

Ooops. I think I have conflated Veraccia and Vermentino. SORRY! This student will keep learning. 🙂

Italian grapes and regions are very confusing!

Yes! The Wealthy Barber, I just got a copy for my nephew for Christmas this year and praised it for being such an approachable book to the world of finance. I also love that you included the Knights Templar in your wine write up, such an interesting group. This is my favorite part about wine, there is always a history or geography connection to everything!

Great book to share with younger folks for sure! Finding those historical nuggets can be challenging but super rewarding! Thanks for reading Robbie! I think you'd like this wine!

Your style might be a bit quirky for some but I often hear myself in the 2nd voice.

I also earned that the Knights Templar bought and managed farms and vineyards.

I think your writing style is fun! I sold so many cases of that wine this summer if I never see it again it won’t be soon enough! Not to say it wasn’t decent, but I am not much into Provence rosé unless I am in the south of France! And I do prefer Vermentino from France, but anything over Italian wine usually wins for me! 🫣

Thanks Kate! Always a pleasure to hear from you! Given that you are a huge fan of Portugal wine, you probably don't love the acidity that comes with 90% of Italian wine! I too prefer their 😀Vermentino although I still fantasize about their top end rosé. I tasted it last year. The problem is at its price it would have been tough to sell, so we never brought it in! Great producer!

Their top end is really good but we also didn't bring it in because of the price, we saved that for Tavel and Bandol! I adore northern Italian wines, but for some weird reason a lot of the wines are hard for me. Maybe it is the acidity! I never thought of it like that. Thanks for pointing that out, Eveline!!

I would suspect the acidity is the reason why. Their wine revolves around their high acidity (lots of tomato) and high fat (cheese) food! I didn't realize you also work in retail!!

I did for years up until mid-December. I had to take w job in another field due to health care costs more than quadrupling for Scott. And wine retail doesn’t pay well here! But I adore it!

Wine retail pays poorly here too. I love it too.... it is the way to really stay on top of all the ongoing changes in the wonderful and ever changing wine world. I didn't fully understand that at first!

I totally agree! I hope to be in it again one day, I am sure I will be. It’s my favorite thing.
