I remember the first time I discovered that Montepulciano was both a grape and a place (and that the place doesn't grow the grape) during WSET level 2... Still blows my mind!

Agreed! I still trip up the names verbally! I have to always pause to ensure I have the right M name! I really enjoyed this Vino Nobile! Smooth!

This is super helpful. Hoping to visit Tuscany this year. (And possibly level 3 before year-end 🫣)

So exciting! It is an amazing place! You will love it! Are you planning on doing your WSET in Tuscany too? Or are those independent statements. There was a Canadian company that used to offer the course in Florence.

Independent statements! 😁 Planning a wine trip in a few months: Tuscany, Burgundy, Champagne. Then level 3 later in the year. I hear it's considerably tough vs level 2 😬

Amazing! Yes big jump from 2 to 3 but well worth it!!

I will pre-study before I sign up for the course 🤭

Exactly! It is just about committing to the time required.

Will keep that in mind, thanks! Would be annoying if I had to retake it.

Great article Eveline. The Monte naming labyrinth is a bit tricky to get our heads around, but if everything about wine was straightforward what would we write about?

Exactly! Gives purpose and meaning!
