My favourite reds. Thanks for the info! (just a little note though Eveline.. Ribera=riverbank/Reserva (with an e in Spanish. "I" in Italian, I think)) 😍🍷My goal next month is to read all your articles about wine - there's so much to learn!
Hello! Thanks so much for pointing out this out, I will edit on the Substack! I also really appreciate your interest in my posts! Thanks so much for the support!
It is delicious! Particularly because it was the wine that just kept giving, it continued to evolve right to the end! I like the label too! Thanks for taking the time to comment Nathaniel!
I now see that the Spanish national minimum is 6 months but that the Ribera del Duero DO specifies 12 months. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment.
Well it doesn´t depend on the country it depends on the DO. Actually Crianza category requires usually a minimum of 12 months in oak. It is the same thing in Rioja. 12 months

You're welcome! 😊
That Nabal Crianza sounds delicious from your tasting note - think I'd buy the bottle just for the cool label alone!

Another great piece of history and always great advice! Balancing the price vs. taste is always a challenge. One of our favourite red regions ;)
So cool that it is one of your favorite regions!
Aging time in oak for Crianza is wrong
Hi Ribera, myWSET diploma says 6 months, has there been a recent change?
You can go directly to the source, probably it´d be better. It has been 12 months in oak for decades in Rioja and Ribera del Duero.
