I tasted my first Montsant wine last week and loved it! Interesting too about requiring another degree... I met an Italian winemaking student who also had a degree in engineering. I was a bit baffled at the time, but maybe it's more common than I realised!
Fun coincidence that I write about it a week later! Yes, it is super common. Tasted from a Burgundy house this week with the same scenario. Winemaking is super scienc-y so it fits. Many take agricultural engineering which also covers food production!
Depends what you want to do? Diversity of experience and knowledge is key in everything!!! We all contribute in our own way and have capacity to keep learning beyond our formal education! Literature education would help me with my wine writing! Didn't take anything except technical writing in engineering. (We nicknamed it Bonehead English.)

So are you telling me a degree in English Literature isn't the best preparation for a career in wine?! 😂
